Magic Mill
In Magic the Gathering, if i had godhead of awe in play, then what happens when i summon merrow reejerey?
I am playing with a merfolk mill/aggro deck. the godhead of awe keeps every creature at 1/1. although, merrow reejerey gives all other merfolk +1/+1. does godhead cancel out that effect or do all my merfolk still receive the power up? also, any tips on making this type of deck better would be great!
Due to the layering, additional effects go on top of the Godheads effect. This is important for the one combination we play in casual. First to answer your question, that means that the Reejerey effect gives all merefolk their additional +1/+1, just like a Glorious Anthem would if it were out.
Now this is important for when you combine Godhead of Awe with Mirror Entity. Godhead of Awe sets everyone to 1/1 but then activating the Mirror Entity in the layering overrides the Godheads ability for that turn and makes all creatures x/x where x is the mana you spend. So your opponents have wimpy creatures and you have an army with Mirror Entity leading the way. I've seen this combination along with Elspeth to make soldiers that block the planeswalker until the "everything you own is indestructible" ability goes off and then, you have indestructible 1/1 creatures while your opponents creatures get destroyed. After Elspeth, Wrath of God is just a game win.
