Kitchen Weighing
26 years old and weigh 184, need to loose about 30 pounds or so safely?
I work at a nursing home in the kitchen as a dietary aide. I went to the doctor last week for a normal check up and saw that I weighed 184. I have been trying to eat better and work out when I am not at work. I am 26 years old and about 5'8. I would like to loose about 20 to 30 pounds in about two months. I just need some in how to eat right and what I should be eating. Please help!
gimmicks dont work and i wouldn't try any of those diet products. To start I wouldn't really worry so much about your weight as i would inches and health. Working out is the first thing you should be doing. Join a gym and try to get a friend to join also. It is way easier when you have someone to help motivate you. Make sure you are doing weight training. Muscle burns fat. Cardio is very important. I would start doing cardio at least 3-4 times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes. Hire a personal trainer if you can afford it. My boyfriend is one and in the past week he started training me. This is the first time I have actually been sore from working out, so obviously I wasn't pushing myself hard enough when I was going alone.
Diet is also important. Although if you start working out and don't change your diet, you will see change regardless. Diet will just speed up the process. I suggest cutting out a lot of saturated fat(red meat), stick with chicken or turkey, with a complex carb and TONs and tOns of vegetables. If you eat six small meals a day you are way more likely to not be REALLY hungry and eat something bad for you. The key is stay full all the time with things that are good for you. Some snack ideas would be
celery and carrot sticks with Peanut Butter
cottage cheese and fruit
a wrap with chicken and vegetable
salads
if you keep fresh fruit and vegetables on hand you will eat them, but be prepared to eat way more than you are probably used to. It's hard to eat non-stop, but that's the key to keeping your metabolism high.
