What does it mean when you say a assault rifle is powered by gas?
I was looking into buying aa m4 carbine or m16 and i was looking at some guns and one of the specifications says it is gas powered can you let me know what it means and what's the difference?
Straight gas or gas piston operated....?
Straight gas requires the spent gas of the round cycling back to throw the bolt open, gas piston uses spent gas to push a piston back and operate the bolt. Straight gas is a dirtier method than the gas piston.
