How To Lose The Beer Belly
Losing the beer belly
Having a 40 inch waste can greatly increase the chance of diabetes!
Losing that beer belly requires a number of attributes:-
- Knowledge
- Will power
- Motivation
- Discipline
Knowledge of the food stuffs which are more likely to cause beer bellies is an advantage. I suppose beer is a good place to start. The carbohydrates in beer will cause the storage of fat cells. Reducing beer intake and changing to a low carb alternative is advantageous . White bread is also high in carbs, switching to wholemeal and brown bread is a good idea. There is a meal replacement supplement which provides 100% of the recommended daily amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Specific exercises are also needed to reduce the beer belly. Contrary to popular belief sit ups will not do the trick. Abdominals will be built but they will be underneath the stomach pushing out making the stomach making it look bigger.
Cardio exercises for at least 20 minutes will burn burn fat. You could try:-
- Bike riding
- Star jumps
- Swimming
- Step aerobics
- Swinging a kettle bell
The Oblique muscles are on the sides of the abdomen. Exercising these muscles will have the affect of drawing the stomach in. Windmills are a great exercise for this. For the windmill exercise you will need a dumbbell or a kettle bell. Stand with your feet around 2 feet apart. Turn your left foot slightly to the left. Raise the weight in your right hand straight into the air. Without bending your knees bend sideways to your left and touch your left foot with your left hand while keeping the weight straight in the right hand. Once you have touched your foot straighten back up. Repeat this 10 times. Then switch the weight to the left hand and reverse the standing position. Repeat on the right hand side for 10 reps. Repeat this 3 times at least twice a week.
The aforementioned meal replacement is low in carbs and high in protein. Taking this shake twice a day with a healthy meal will shave inches off your stomach by reducing the carb and fat intake and in turn providing protein to your exercised oblique muscles which will draw in that beer belly.

- Reduce beer intake
